The functionality AVG Web TuneUp has to offer is divided into three categories: Site Protection, which protects against dangerous and unsafe websites, Do Not Track, which blocks web trackers, and Browser Cleaner, which cleans your browser’s cache.

Speaking about browsers, it must be pointed out that AVG Web TuneUp is a browser add-on that works with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Google’s Chrome, and Mozilla’s Firefox. It must be pointed out as well that AVG Web TuneUp is a new AVG product. It was released to the public early in January 2014, which is little over a year at the time of writing this. The first time you run AVG Web TuneUp, a Welcome wizard will present the functionality this AVG product has to offer. It explains that you will be instantly notified when you try to access a risky or dangerous site, that you can block intrusive trackers from tracking what you do online, and that you can protect your privacy by cleaning your browsing history, cookies, and so on. The Welcome Wizard will also present the AVG Secure Search page.

Site Safety provides lots of useful information about a website: the IP address, the location of the server, if SSL is enabled or not, if active threats have been found on the website in the last 30 days, and more.
